My 42 year-old patient suffers from high blood pressure and is pre-diabetic. Although she’s an active woman, she had tried to lose weight on her own with little success. So she scheduled an appointment to sit down and talk. Together, we reviewed her diet, lifestyle and how much exercise she was getting. She agreed to make some changes and to start tracking her activities and food choices. Every month, she comes in to my office to review her progress and I’m pleased to say that she’s already lost 40 pounds.
This patient is an excellent example of how your physician can help you make positive changes in your life. She’s lowered her cholesterol and her risk of diabetes. Plus she looks and feels better, physically and mentally.
